The "E 2019 Historic Vintage Rialto VERNACCIA DI SAN GIMIGNANO BIO*" by CAPPELLASANTANDREA is a still white wine from the renowned Tuscany region in Italy. This DOCG wine, certified organic, is made from Vernaccia di San Gimignano grapes grown on sandy soils of Pliocene origin rich in fossil skeletons, which give the product a unique depth linked to the geological history of the area. The harvest takes place at the end of September, with hand-picking in small crates during the cooler hours, and the vinification occurs in steel with spontaneous fermentation, thus enhancing the energetic and rustic character typical of Vernaccia. Vintage: 2019 Grapes: Vernaccia di San Gimignano Alcohol content: 13.5 Winery: Guyot Harvest/Vintage: End of September Organoleptic notes: Notes of wheat, barley and peat: the character of Vernaccia is expressed clearly. Intense and full, it does not seek finesse, but has an energetic and rustic tone, with slight tannic residues in the finish. Potential for aging up to about 10-12 years. Soil: Pliocene sands rich in fossil skeletons. Vinification/Aging: In this wine, we want to bring out the depth of the soils of San Gimignano and their connection to the ancient sea in which they were submerged. The grapes from the oldest vineyard, hand-picked in small crates during the cooler hours of the day, are destemmed and left to macerate for 20 hours before pressing. Pied de cuve for spontaneous fermentation. Vinification in steel. Yield per hectare: 70 q.li/Ha A wine that strongly expresses the character of its territory, ideal for those who appreciate Vernaccia di San Gimignano in an authentic and organic form. It is recommended to taste it to fully capture its notes of wheat, barley and peat, appreciating its intensity and structure, both at a young age and after an appropriate aging period.
