The 2001 MONLEALE is a still red wine produced by VIGNETI MASSA, proudly rooted in the winemaking tradition of Piemonte, Italy. Belonging to the DOC designation, this wine originates from vineyards situated on clay and limestone soils, at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level and an east-west exposure, which confer a distinctive structure and character to the product. The harvest is carried out manually with careful selection in the vineyard at the ideal moment of ripeness, ensuring superior quality from the outset. Vintage: 2001 Alcohol content: 14 Winery: Guyot Harvest/Vintage: Manual in bins with selection in the vineyard, when the lignified stem (the right moment of ripeness indicated by the browning of the stem at the internode) is reached. Organoleptic notes: Dense ruby red colour. On the nose, it presents all types of sour cherry, complemented by blackcurrant and blueberry thanks to ageing in small wooden barrels. Soil: Clay and limestone Vineyard: Cerreta, Fontana, Orefice, Casareggio, Campolungo; area 7.00 ha – vines/ha 5,500 – planting density 2.35×0.90 – altitude 300 m a.s.l. – east-west exposure. Winemaking/Ageing: Traditional with daily pump-overs for about 8/10 days, pomace massage around the fourth/fifth day, racking and soft pressing of the pomace, immediate reintegration into the must of the total pressing yield. Yield per hectare: 72 q.li/Ha The 2001 MONLEALE presents itself with a dense ruby red colour and an aromatic bouquet rich in sour cherries, blackcurrants, and blueberries, the result of careful ageing in small wooden barrels. An ideal wine for those wishing to explore the complexity and elegance typical of Piedmontese reds, to be enjoyed alongside meat dishes or aged cheeses.
