The 2020 (1,500) MONTECITORIO DERTHONA Corked Etui is a still red wine produced by VIGNETI MASSA, located in the renowned region of Piemonte, Italy. This wine is made from hand-harvested grapes from the Montecitorio vineyard, situated at 300 metres above sea level on a marl soil, with an east-facing exposure. The winemaking process involves low-temperature skin maceration followed by white fermentation, which gives the wine a distinctive and complex character, resulting from artisanal attention and local tradition. Vintage: 2020 Alcohol content: 14 Winery: Guyot classico Harvest/Vintage: Manual in bins with selection in the vineyard, when the stem is lignified (the right moment of ripeness indicated by the darkening of the stem to the internode). Organoleptic notes: It presents a wonderfully bright light yellow colour. The nose shows all types of lemons, ripe apples, mirabelles, and green apples. The stainless steel ageing process adds mint and lemon balm. Soil: Marl Vineyard: Montecitorio. Area 1.60 ha – vines/Ha 5,500 – planting density 2.35×0.90 – altitude 300 m a.s.l. – exposure east. Winemaking/Ageing: Skin maceration at 8-12°C followed by pressing the grapes after 40/42 hours, white fermentation at 19-22°C with subsequent periodic batonnage until the retrogradation of malic acid occurs.
